Accessibility statement
Effective 12 October 2026. Junaid Kalia, MD wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader or other assistive technology.
Our aim
This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What has been done
- Every page and control can be used with a keyboard, and the keyboard focus is visible.
- Text and controls meet the AA colour-contrast ratios in both the light and the dark theme.
- Motion, scroll animation and the animated background are reduced or removed when your device asks for less motion.
- Headings, landmarks, links and buttons are labelled so a screen reader can move around the page, and decorative images and drawings are hidden from assistive technology.
- The page text is in the HTML itself, so content is available before scripts run, and the layout adapts from phones to wide screens without sideways scrolling at common sizes.
How it was checked
The site was tested with an automated checker (axe) on the main page in the light and the dark theme at phone and desktop widths, and found no violations. Automated tools find only part of the problems, so the site has not been shown to meet every WCAG criterion.
Known limitations
- The site is one long page of full-screen sections that animate as you scroll. Using the navigation links, or the keyboard, moves you directly to a section.
- On very small screens, around 320 by 568 pixels, some content in the About, Journey and Research sections can extend below the visible area; scrolling still reaches it on larger screens.
- Some images, such as logos of organisations, have no text alternative because the organisation's name is written beside them.
- Documents and recordings on other sites, such as videos and articles, have the accessibility of those sites.
